Larry Smith

Larry Smith is a prime-time sports anchor for CNN Headline News in addition to his duties as anchor, reporter and feature writer for CNN/Sports Illustrated (CNN/SI). Based in CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, Smith joined CNN Headline News in July 2001. During his tenure at CNN/SI, Smith has been on virtually every sports show on the network, including Sports Tonight and Sports Latenight. Before joining CNN, Smith served as a sports anchor and reporter at WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, FL. While at WPTV-TV, Smith anchored and produced the Saturday and Sunday night sportscasts and his reporting beat included Olympic features, the Miami Dolphins and University of Miami sports. Earlier, Smith worked in Knoxville, TN as a general assignment report on the early morning and noon newscasts. He also served as a general assignment news and sports reporter, weekend assignment editor and fill-in sports anchor at WICD-TV in Champaign, IL .
